The platform, the operator and the know-how
Every hire comes with one of our own IPAF-trained operators. They drive the truck to your site, check the ground and overhead hazards, set up on the stabilisers and run the platform from start to finish.
Your tradesperson goes up in the basket and gets on with the job. There's no certification for you to arrange, no unfamiliar controls to learn, and nobody on your team carrying the risk of operating a machine they don't use every day.

Every rate includes the 21m platform, an IPAF-trained operator and 10 miles of travel from our Manchester HQ. Further travel is quoted with your fixed price.
How booking works
Once we've agreed a fixed price, we send a proforma invoice. Your date is confirmed when it's paid, so nothing is held before then.
If the work can't go ahead because of something on the customer's side, such as no access to the site or missing permits, the booked hire rate is still due. Full details are in our terms.

Before we arrive
- Keep the set-up area clear of parked cars and obstructions
- Tell us about overhead cables, low branches, soft ground or tight access
- If we need to set up on a public road, a council permit may be needed
- Keep children and pets away from the truck and work area
- Delays caused by access problems come out of the booked hire time

Hire questions
Can I hire the cherry picker without an operator?
No, we only offer operated hire. Our own IPAF-trained operator drives the platform to site, sets it up and operates it throughout, so you don't need any certification of your own.
Can the operator do the work, or do I need my own person in the basket?
For roof and gutter cleaning our operator does the work for you. For trade jobs like tree work, signage or electrics, your own tradesperson goes up in the basket while our operator controls the platform.
How many people fit in the basket?
The basket is designed for the operator plus one, with tools. We'll check the weight of any equipment or materials when we price the job.
What ground does the truck need?
The truck sets up on stabilisers, so it needs reasonably firm, level ground such as a road, driveway or yard. Let us know about soft ground, slopes or restricted space when you book.
Is the night shift rate for a full night?
Yes. The night shift is for out-of-hours work such as retail units, busy roads and sites that can't be disturbed during the day. Tell us the hours you need and we'll confirm the price.
