How much does cherry picker hire cost? It depends on the job. This guide explains what affects the price, what our rates include, and a few simple ways to keep the cost down.
What affects the price?
How long you need it
A half day costs less than a full day, and out-of-hours night work is priced separately. That's why we price in clear blocks rather than by the minute. Smaller jobs that need less than four hours are priced individually, on request.
Height and reach
Bigger jobs at greater height usually need more planning and more time on site.
Travel
Our rates include a set amount of travel from our head office. Sites further away have the extra travel added to the fixed price.
Access and site complexity
Tight streets, permits or unusual ground can all add time to a job.
Planned or short notice
We'll always try to fit in short-notice jobs, but booking a little ahead keeps things more predictable.
Our rates at a glance
- Smaller jobs (under 4 hours): quote on request
- 4 hours from £280
- 8 hours from £380
- Night shift from £650
Every rate is for operated hire: the 21m platform plus one of our IPAF-trained operators, with no separate certification cost. Up to 10 miles of travel from our Manchester head office is included.
Ways to keep the cost down
- Bundle jobs. Roof cleaning and gutter clearing in one visit is more efficient than two separate bookings.
- Book ahead rather than relying on short notice.
- Prepare the site. Delays caused by access problems come out of your paid hire time, so a clear site means more work done in your slot. See our terms for details.
- Tell us the full scope. An accurate description gets you an accurate fixed price from the start.
